Meet Sarah Donovan
Sarah brings a passion for science education and hands-on learning to every resource she creates.
Originally from Massachusetts, Sarah studied Environmental Science and Chemistry at Boston University. She has spent the past 10 years living in Panama and currently teaches 10th grade chemistry at a bilingual school in Panama City. Throughout her teaching career, she has taught a variety of science subjects, including biology, general science, environmental science, and chemistry across middle and high school grade levels.
Her diverse teaching background allows her to create resources that are both academically meaningful and classroom-tested, helping students build understanding through engaging and accessible learning experiences.
We asked Sarah to share her ideas and priorities for creating science resources for the classroom.
When you’re creating resources, what do you always keep in mind?
One thing that I always keep in mind when designing my materials is the clarity of instruction. I try to provide clear, concise directions for students so that they can own their learning process. I also include any relevant and new vocabulary that they may need in order to fully understand the topic or activity.
What can teachers expect every time they use one of your Premium resources?
Teachers can always count on a fun, engaging activity! I aim for my resources to be hands-on and not just “busy work.” I also provide detailed instructions for educators so that they can spend less time planning and more time engaging with their students.
