Meet Fenyx Blue
Fueled by tea, kindness, and the belief that every student has a story worth reading, Fenyx Blue brings nearly 25 years of experience supporting students and educators. A K–12 Reading Specialist, award-winning educator, instructional coach, SEL facilitator, mentor, and author of eight books, she is passionate about helping students discover their potential and giving teachers the tools to create lasting impact.
Drawing on decades of classroom and leadership experience, Fenyx creates engaging, relationship-centered resources that foster confidence, encourage growth, and make learning memorable for every child.
We asked Fenyx to share her ideas and priorities for creating educational resources.
When you’re creating resources, what do you always keep in mind?
I always remember that students don’t come to school just to complete worksheets. They come for experiences, relationships, and memories that honor who they are and stay with them long after the lesson is over. I design activities that connect to students’ backgrounds, experiences, and interests, making learning engaging, meaningful, and fun so they leave excited about what they discovered instead of simply what they finished. If a child can’t wait to answer “What did you do at school today?” with a story instead of “Nothing,” then I know I’ve created something worth remembering.
What can teachers expect every time they use one of your resources?
I typically see myself in the role of super co-teacher when I create resources. Every resource I create is shaped by real classroom experience and designed with helping and supporting both teachers and students in mind. Teachers can count on lessons that are engaging, meaningful, and easy to implement because I believe learning should be memorable, not just manageable. My goal is to help teachers spend less time planning and more time creating the kinds of classroom experiences students will still be talking about when they get home. Consider me your classroom sidekick or teaching partner who never steals your favorite Expo marker.
